Dirk Nowitzki told a fan on Twitter Sunday that he plans to play at least two more seasons, part of a 100-minute question-and-answer session he held with fans on the social media site.

Nowitzki still has two years remaining on a four-year contract he signed before the 2010-11 season. Since signing that contract, he’s had two stellar seasons and led the Mavericks to the 2011 NBA championship. He averaged 21.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season.

If he does decide to continue playing, he didn’t seem very willing to even consider leaving Dallas when another follower asked him why he wouldn’t just “join a superteam.”

Good to see a player stay committed to a team for so long. This is just an example of Nowitzki's loyalty to the franchise. It will be a sad day to see him leave the game and other greats like Kobe.

Duncan and Nowitzki are classy as it gets. They would have been even better in the 80s.
