The Detroit Pistons have sold out the Palace for every game dating back to 2004 and though the streak has continued, there have been many empty seats in the arena.

"Now people are thinking, 'Ok, I've got go pay for gas, parking, a couple of beers, a couple slices of pizza,' " Wilson said. "So they look at those tickets and realize they'll have to throw 30 extra dollars at it. They decide they'd rather just eat the tickets. ... People are making that kind of a decision, and we aren't used to seeing that before."

When LeBron James and the Cavaliers visited back in November, 10% of the ticket holders did not show up for the game.

The Pistons are also expecting their sell out steak to come to an end.

That happens at every game, just about. Teams, who sell out games, courtesy of season ticket holders, sometimes dont show up and therefore empty seats are around the stadium. Also, the way the economy is now-a-days, people need to be more conservative on how they spend their money, and sometimes going to a Pistons game, or any sports games for that matter, are in the best interest finacially.
