eMarcus Cousins is eligible for a maximum contract this summer and a trade demand looms if he and the Sacramento Kings are not able to reach a deal.

In the meantime, Cousins has been instructed by his agent, Dan Fegan, not to speak about anything regarding the Kings, their new ownership or their management.

"No comment," Cousins replied when asked about his thoughts on the Kings' new regime, which includes majority owner Vivek Ranadive, GM Pete D'Alessandro and coach Mike Malone.

Cousins will participate on the U.S. Select team this offseason.

That's not weird at all.

I wouldn't look that far into it. He had a smile on his face when he said it too.

DeMarcus Cousins' agent Dan Fegan wants a maximum contract extension for his client and will threaten to demand a trade if no deal is reached in the offseason, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Fegan is putting Cousins is a terribly uncomfortable position. Fegan does not want Cousins to speak on anything related to the Kings and has instructed Cousins not to make any public comments as related to the team, management or ownership. New coach Mike Malone called Cousins the cornerstone of the team, and it appears the new ownership group will have an interesting early test with Cousins' contract situation.

Cousins is absolutely worth the max if the team giving him that contract has a good coach in place.  He's an 18 and 10 player in the shithole he's in now. (20 and 12 per 36 for his career)

His potential is through the roof if put in the right situation. His attitude is shit, but maybe he'll mature as he grows older.  I'm pretty sure people thought the same of Bynum... some still do.

He can't be a #1 option. He needs a star vetetan that sets his ass straight if he's bitching around. That and a good coach.

Imagine him next to Rose and Thibs. He would be fucking golden.

He's an inefficient big who doesn't play defense.

Until he does those two things he isn't worth the max.
