One of the worst Coaching situations in Pro-Sports...and getting worse...
As Lane Kiffin stood firm and held his regularly scheduled media session with the Bay Area Press on Monday, sources around the Oakland Raiders are reporting that Owner Al Davis has already began making moves to find a replacement for 2nd year head coach.
According to sources, Davis held meetings with offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, offensive line coach Tom Cable and current Raiders consultant Paul Hackett, concerning the possibilities of replacing Kiffin.
I ask all of you: When the f*ck will Al Davis realize that changing head coaches every 1-2 years is creating more of a problem than solving others?
I personally haven't seen such a young & mediocre Raiders' team play harder in recent years, than they have for Kiffin since he got the job. I like Lane Kiffin, I thought he was a breath of fresh air for Raiders' fans, and I feel like Kiffin is making progress with this team.
A very young team, still rebuilding, no doubt a rough road was ahead of them. Granted the team didn't finish with much of a record in 2007 and they are 1-3 to start this season, but the Raiders are playing competitive football once again.
I just think Al Davis, who I am surprised is still alive, is too hell bent on returning to the good ol' days when the Raiders were a league powerhouse. Davis has lost touch with the NFL today and doesn't realize that his Super Bowl team of 2003 got old, fell apart, and you don't make the playoffs while your rebuilding.
Unfair to Kiffin. Davis needs to take 10 f*cking steps back and just be Owner, not Owner/President/General Manager. -AE
