The Oakland Raiders might not have to wait long for Darren McFadden.

X-rays and an MRI on the Raiders running back's injured ankle came back negative Monday, coach Dennis Allen said, via Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Allen said McFadden hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

McFadden suffered a high ankle sprain in the second quarter of last Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn't return. His backup, Mike Goodson, wasn't much help before leaving with the same injury. Allen refused to rule out Goodson against the Ravens, but neither running back figures to be 100 percent coming off a high ankle sprain.

If McFadden or Goodson can't go, Taiwan Jones and even fullback Marcel Reece might see action for the Raiders.

The Raiders' season is on the rocks. Even at full health, they've struggled to run the ball consistently, leaving Carson Palmer to pick up the pieces with a passing game that seems to find itself in weekly shootouts. The Raiders have lost too many of those in 2012.
Aside from two 100+ rush games, McFadden hasn't done that much this year. That being said, without him, it would still be a downgrade with whoever he'd be replaced with, if he couldn't play this week.
