Darrelle Revis is on the block.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are uncomfortable paying the star cornerback's $16 million salary and are open to a trade, according to two sources informed of the team's thinking.
Rapoport has been told there are teams interested in Revis, though the money involved could serve as a barrier in getting a trade done.
The Bucs -- under the leadership of former general manager Mark Dominik -- acquired Revis from the New York Jets last April in exchange for a 2013 first-round draft pick and conditional fourth-rounder this year. That pick becomes a third-rounder if Revis is on the Bucs' roster on March 13.
Revis, 28, was a 16-game starter for the Bucs this past season, performing well and earning a Pro Bowl berth in his first season back from reconstructive knee surgery. The Bucs went 4-12, however, leading to organizational housecleaning.
Revis remains an elite talent at his position, which makes his presence in trade talks the NFL's biggest story on the eve of free agency. If the Bucs can't find a trade partner, you have to wonder if one of the best players in the league could suddenly hit the open market.

Hmm, very interesting. I wonder what teams would be willing to trade for him. Not many due to his high salary. What if the Pats signed him after he was released? That would be crazy lol.

The Bucs won't be on the hook for any of the $80 million left on that contract if they just cut him.   Not a single dime of that contract was guaranteed.

Not to sure I'd call him elite anymore. He's still DAMN good, but not elite.

He's still elite in a man cover system. The Tampa Cover 2 doesn't work for him

Apparently the Browns are considering trading for him? As sick as a Haden/Revis pairing is, we're apparently going to throw a lot of money at Whitner and extend Haden. Not sure you can lock that much money into the secondary. We have to pay Gordon soon
