The Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Bobcats have reached an agreement in principle on a new trade after last week's collapse of a three-way deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to NBA front-office sources.

This one, however, does not involve Bobcats guard Raymond Felton.

Sources told ESPN.com on Friday that the Mavericks and Bobcats are close to completing a deal that would send Dallas center DeSagana Diop to Charlotte for guard Matt Carroll and center Ryan Hollins
I like this beccause Diop was useless in Dallas, Carrol is a deadly shooter, and Emeka could play PF exclusively
solid trade

This is great because A) look at Diop's contract we signed him to. It's like long term 5 million a year or so. So this gets rid of a nasty contract.

Plus Hollins > Diop

And Carroll who is struggling from the field, but shot 40% from 3's the last two seasons adds another shot to our bench

Great deal.
Things look nice in CHA now.
Finally some good deals are being pulled.

so is Wallace now a 2 and Diaw a 3?
or is something else going down?
or is either just a 6th man now?

Cats win this, but Dallas still made out.
And Maple, I think Matt has like 4 more years on his contract..

Yes, but it's 1 million dollar less, and plus, Carroll > Diop. Just look at Diop stats, all he could do is rebound and block. Hollins makes up for that. And Carroll's contract has an option his last year

nobody loses, its solid

Charlotte might benefit more though because Okafor is gonna be a PF now. I know he's thrilled

I really don't think Dallas needs another shooter. I'd take Diop over Hollins 9 outta 10 times too. He just didn't get enough PT.

smh, people don't realize how much diop has regressed from 2 years ago. He's not that guy.

Plus Hollins put up beter stats then Diop in less MPG

Well none-the-less I don't think this trade will help either team THAT much.
