Mexi, they've gotten further than the Lakers have pretty much every year since Shaq left.
Just because the Lakers have been playing well in the regular season doesn't make them any better of a playoff team than the Mavs, who made the finals two years ago, and last year lost to their former head coach who built a lineup with the sole intention to take out the Mavericks.
After the Lakers win a championship post-Shaq, then you can't trash talk. Quite frankly, with all of the balanced power, the chances of that happening with Kobe, Pau, etc is about 15% (I see a 3 year window).
