ESPN analyst Cris Carter needed a little coaxing (and a lot of public ridicule) before he put Calvin Johnson on the list of top five NFL receivers. Carter apparently requires no such coercion when it comes to former teammate Randy Moss.

With Moss announcing on his 35th birthday that he plans to return to football, Carter said Monday night that Moss still has the speed that made him one of the best receivers in NFL history.

“The thing about Randy is, he’s never really been hurt,” Carter said, according to our own Evan Silva, who inexplicably was watching SportsCenter instead of NBC SportsTalk. “And he still can run very, very fast,” Carter said. ”I know he can run 4.3 today. I know he can still jump out of the bed and run 4.3.”

That remains the key question regarding the potential interest in Randy Moss. Can he still run like he once ran? If he can, he’ll have suitors.

If he can’t, he’ll be running with T.O. and the rest of the Allen Wranglers.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it, Randy is just a freak athlete.

Last year the speed was still there, no doubt, the effort just wasn't.

I hope someone picks him up. Dude is my favorite WR of all time. I also always sign him in free agency or trade for him in Madden.

Yea I don't doubt that, the question is more about his vertical, stamina & most importantly, whether or not he gives a shit.

He said he's ready to rip some heads off on Ustream. He said he doesnt care if he isn't the number 1 receiver anymore. But we will see how that lasts if he gets on a team.

He didn't give a shit on Vikes and Titans because they sucked and weren't Playoff contenders.
If he went to a good team I bet he would do good.

But he didn't give a shit in his last season with the Patriots, a season that didn't last too long for him.

Agent: Three teams have called about Randy Moss

Randy Moss’ decision to return to football has already attracted some attention around the league.

Appearing on PFT Live Tuesday, agent Joel Segal said that three teams called him with interest regarding Moss in the last day. He expects to hear from more teams around the Combine next week.

Segal wouldn’t give away what teams have called. He expected some teams to show serious interest, while others were just curious. Segal isn’t sure if Moss will work out for teams because he hasn’t talked about it at length with Moss.

In fact, Segal said he learned about Moss’ decision to unretire by reading PFT.

We’ll have more from Segal’s conversation later in the day on the site.

Not sure how Cris "knows" this.
Cris was probably Randy's best friend who was an NFL player. Cris was his mentor and I remember when Moss retired Cris was telling stories on Mike & Mike about how Randy is still over at his house for dinner and hangs out with his kids and stuff like that. I'd assume that they do football related things when they hang out.

It doesn't seem like Randy and Cris are friends based on what Randy said about him lol

Randy didn't like what CC said about his quitting thing but after he said what he said he said that he would always love Cris. What Cris said was a year ago though so things could have changed :iono:

LOL that was just to fix what he had said, so it doesn't look as bad to the teams. Shows he's still immature as hell.
