Fired coach Romeo Crennel says he is open to returning to the Browns in a lesser role if the team's next coach "really wants him."

Crennel could be a defensive coordinator candidate if the Browns hire Eric Mangini as head coach, but otherwise is unlikely to return. The NFL's oldest coach last season, Crennel turns 62 in June and may elect to call it a career.

Crennel is a class act, even though he was not a good head coach, he is a good guy, our players respect and like him. He is a defensive guy, I wouldn't mind having him back in a lessor role.

Pretty good stuff, I hope Crennel does get another shot in Cleveland in a smaller role.
