Todd Archer/ESPN.com - The Cowboys waived injured running back Tashard Choice on Saturday morning.

If Choice clears waivers, the team will then reach an injury settlement with him.

The move was made to clear a roster spot for rookie linebacker Bruce Carter, who is expected to make his pro debut Sunday night at Philadelphia.

Choice suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter against the St. Rams last week.

Had a good first two years, but hasn't done much else.

94 carries for 318 yards (3.38 yards) and 3 TD's last two years.

now we can stop blocking his shine. he was always the best all around rb in Dallas with Felix and MBIII, he should have gotten a lot more time. I wasn't even angry to see him get cut, even though he's my favorite player. I just want him to be somewhere now where he'll get a legitimate chance.

He joined the 'skins today apparently.

Skins quickly picked him up. I'm not sure how he'll fit into the Redskins with the array of backs they're carrying right now (I am aware of the injury issue).

I agree with gety. I felt like he didn't get a really clean shot in Dallas to show off his talents. The guy is a good back, and barring further injuries will get his chance to show what he can do in the league. I really loved his performance when the Cowboys played the Steelers, in Pittsburgh. He seemed like the only guy on that offense that was scratching and clawing for every single yard.

Someone said this guy was better than Bradshaw before the season. I wish I had time to look for that.

There isn't a running back in the league that could succeed in the Redskins offense as it stands right now.
