Jim Irsay’s team has made the trade he has been hinting at for the last few days.

The Indianapolis Colts have acquired cornerback Vontae Davis in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports. The Dolphins receive the Colts’ 2013 second-round draft pick.

Davis and the Dolphins’ coaching staff haven’t appeared to be seeing eye-to-eye this offseason. Davis has taken some time away from practice, and Hard Knocks has shown head coach Joe Philbin getting on Davis during training camp.

The Dolphins picked Davis out of Illinois in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. He has played in 44 games in three seasons, starting 36.

Meh, Davis was solid last year, but he's not worth a second rounder.

His talent and potential are worth a 2nd rounder, and the Dolphins are doing a good job of continuing to rebuild. Good move for both sides imo.

He's worth a late 3rd at the most. He's the type of guy who "doesn't get it" and will never be as good as he could be.

Kind of wish the Lions would have taken a number on him. Good for both sides though.

Yep, that pick will probably be like a late first rounder.

People talk about the talent and potential, but what about the headaches he has caused since he entered the league?
