Random point but you mentioned it with Toronto: it's weird how a lot of GM's will help acquire a lot of the pieces of a good team, but the team won't have success until after their time. A good example of this is Andy MacPhail with the Baltimore Orioles, who made the trades to acquire Adam Jones, Chris Davis, Chris Tillman, etc. But the team didn't have a successful season until Dan Duquette replace him. Weird how that works out

Yeah sometimes you just need the players to develop, or give them the right coach to do so.
Which Colangelo also brought in a coach who turned out to do a pretty fine job lol.

Never liked Colangelo. Had occasional good moves but he did draft Bargnani first overall, he did trade for Gay, and he made a lot of instinct stupid moves to save his job or have Bosh stay like the signing of Turkoglu.

DeRozan, JVand Terrence Ross were good picks tho. Not a horrible GM but he did set the raptors back a few times

Colangelo was a very good drafter.

Bargnani wasn't entirely his fault. The NBA screwed him over with the one year removed from high school requirement, and it just so happened to be the year Oden and Durant were seniors.

Yeah that draft wasn't particularly strong anywho.

I just like the fact he has no ties to the organization. Fresh start.
