"Cliff Lee threw about 25 pitches in the visitor's bullpen at Turner Field before Wednesday's game and said there was no trace of the abdominal soreness that landed him on the disabled list last month.
"I didn't feel anything," Lee said. "I feel good about it."
The left-hander still needs another bullpen session before he's ready to be activated, meaning he'll miss Friday's matchup against Steven Strasburg and the first-place Nationals, but Lee appears ready to return soon after. His next scheduled start would come Wednesday against the Mets.
"If things go well, one more bullpen and then a game," Lee said. "That's the plan for now.""
