Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has been suspended without pay for 25 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for an amphetamine, in violation of baseball's joint drug prevention and treatment program.
The suspension is effective immediately. The 25 games shall include all regular-season games and postseason games for which Davis would have been eligible. The Orioles lead the American League East by 10 games.

Here ya go CC, this isn't Tigers related.

I wish Adderall worked on me the way it is perceived.

Or maybe he was taking it because he was hitting so poorly.

I don't get why it's even considered a "performance enhancer".

I also think it's funny seeing people on twitter acting like Adderall is the reason he hit 60 homers last yer. Give me a break.

You're more likely to lose weight and power from Adderall than gain anything, considering it can kill your appetite.

I also don't care that it's used to focus. That's not going to increase your baseball skill. Might help you on a test, but not help you with hitting homers.

Yeah. Apparently he had an exception to use it last year, and didn't get the exception this year. Why, I'm not sure.

Tough hit but hopefully the Orioles will be playing long enough to get him back. He'd miss 8 playoff games.

agree with this x10.

not really a big loss for the orioles, though since he's been performing at a replacement level this season.

Disagree. I'm not trying to start this again but this is another example of just looking at stats.

He provides good protection for Cruz/Jones, because despite his average the pitchers still have to respect him or else he'll take 'em deep. Plus, he's one of the few lefty bats in the Orioles' lineup.

It doesn't take advanced stats to realize that Davis has been terrible this season. It's better to have Pearce protect Cruz and Jones anyways.

Homers aren't everything.

I know but do you really think pitchers respect Davis and Pearce the same?

Considering how well he's played this season, yes.

Raise your hand if at the end of last season, you would have been surprised to see such a fall from grace this season.  Nobody?

I don't think anyone expected him to hit 50 homers again, but they also didn't think he'd regress this much.

When Jose Bautista finally started becoming a valuable hitter after half a decade in the majors and became a superstar overnight, I was so skeptical.  Thought for sure failed drug tests were coming.  I was wrong.  He's just a great player and a total enigma.

Chris Davis was on the same path, except he's testing positive for shit and hitting the basement.  He's what I thought Bautista was.

Davis is White Snake and Bautista is Guns 'N Roses.

It was just adderall. Chill...

This. Everyone's making a big deal about this.

I'm sure Adderall does have its benefits, but the benefits are not nearly as drastic as some people think they are. It's also misleading when people say "amphetamines". People jump the gun when they hear that word.
