With the Bulls bowing out of the postseason earlier than expected, we have quite a bit of time to kill before the offseason hits. Carmelo Anthony talk is sure to dominate the conversation, but before we get into anything more specific about those possibilities, we'd like to just take a general look at the roster heading into the offseason.

Under Contract

Derrick Rose
2014-15 salary: $18,862,876
Total salary remaining on contract: three years, $60,279,192

Not much really to say about Rose. He has a bad contract until he proves he can stay healthy and play at a high level. And no, he can't be amnestied.

So what do the Bulls do with their free agents? Do they try to bring back Hinrich and Augustin? If they only bring one back due to the expected return of Derrick Rose, which one do you think they prefer?

I didn't know this, but when Nikola Mirotic he won't have to agree to a rookie pay scale. What kind of money does he fetch?

Lastly, the thing that interests me the most, Jimmy Butler. He still has one season remaining before he becomes a RFA. What kind of deal does he get? What would be an overpay? He regressed offensively, shooting sub 40% on the season. Is he a $6M or $7M player?

Ill answer all of those questions.

I think we realistically bring back Kirk because let's face it...Thibs is gonna get Augistin PAID somewhere. If Augistin takes $4m I say we bring him back and Kirk for the veterans min. but if either of them want more than that I think we let either or both walk.

Mitotic will probably try to get paid more than the MLE which would be unfortunate. However if we do end up trading Taj in an S&T for Melo we could afford to pay him more than the MLE. I think the most likely scenario is letting him stay in Europe for another year.

As of right now I wouldn't pay Jimmy Butler more than 6.5M a year. If he can regain his offensive skill of last year or surpass that next year then he could easily fetch a bit over $8M and I wouldn't mind paying him that if he looks like he end up being like an 18ppg guy.
