Charlie Villanueva Hopeful Of Buyout From Pistons

Charlie Villanueva is hopeful of receiving a contract buyout from the Detroit Pistons before March 1.

Villanueva has already been paid two-thirds of his contract this season. He is in the final year of his deal.

“Anything’s possible. Right now, it is what it is,” Villanueva said. “I wish I could help this team in any way possible, but they’re going in a different direction. It’s part of the business, but if it presented itself, that’s something we’d look at, for sure.”

Villanueva was one of the few players who didn’t participate in a team boycott of a 2011 shoot-around in Philadelphia a day after the trade deadline.

“I’ve thought about that (stuff). But there’s always a right and wrong way to do things, and I’ll always do the right thing,” Villanueva said. “I’m a professional. It’s a privilege to play in this league. My situation ain’t so bright right now.”

No he couldn't. He is a terrible player. I wouldn't doubt if he wasn't on a roster next year lol.

The terms of his buyout should be him paying back the contract to us. Waste of fucking space.
Good fucking riddance to you, hopefully you do get bought out. Fucking scrub.

I think he could have a impact for a title contender.

I'd be willing to bet when he does play for Detroit, he feels a little pressure to do a number of things and do them well. If he goes to a contender, I think he would have a better understanding of his role and do one or two things that he is good at.

he also chucks as soon as he's in the game for us because hes hardly played the past two years.

he's never been in a winning situation. put him in those lockerooms, around those guys, and he'll have his role and his niche and he'll be fine.
