With many NBA teams significantly out of contention and looking ahead at rebuilding around the draft, the trade deadline could see a significant amount of activity.

"I think it's going to be an epic trade deadline," said Chad Ford. "I really do think there's a huge gulf right now between the teams that are trying to compete for a title, a few teams that have struggled this year but still want to make the playoffs, and all those teams willing to write this season off. I think there's a bigger division than in years past."

Pau Gasol remains a major trade candidate, while the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics could trade away some of their more talented assets.

No one is trading talented assets for Pau. The Lakers have literally no leverage

A lot of people are talking about Eric Gordon for Josh Smith for some reason. I thought it was just Pels fans but I've seen Pistons fans talking about it too. I want to get rid of Gordons salary, but I don't want anything to do with Smith. Though admittedly, if you could get 11-12 Josh Smith that isn't playing out of position, having a big rotation of Davis, Smith, and Anderson would be lethal. If you could get Smith and Davis to play that high-low game like Smith and Horford did, which was beautiful basketball, I would do it. But I think it's a mindset now with him and I just don't know if you could break that.
