According to the Lorain Morning Journal, the Cavaliers have shown some interest in Nuggets' shooting guard J.R. Smith.

Currently Smith is seeking more than the mid-level exception of $5.6 million & according to one Nuggets' source, should another team offer Smith the full mid-level for all 5 years, then Denver most likely wouldn't match it.

The Nuggets reportedly dealt Marcus Camby earlier this off-season in order to lower their luxury tax hit and free up the funds to re-sign Smith. -AE

He wouldn't be a bad signing and I could see him starting if he came here. He is a very good scorer, good shooter and athletic. Also it is starting to look like anyone can become a good defensive player in Mike Brown's defensive scheme so I'm sure he could become a much better defender then he is.
