Carmelo Anthony said he feels "what the fans are feeling" after the Knicks fell, 102-91, to the Washington Wizards on Christmas Day, according to a report from ESPN New York's Ian Begley.
The loss, the sixth in a row for New York, dropped the Knicks to 5-26, the second worst record in the Eastern Conference. New York ranks 27th in the league in defensive efficiency and 23rd in offensive efficiency, according to NBA.com.
Over 27 games this season, Anthony has averaged 24.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

This team had no chance at being competitive in the East, which says all anyone needed to know.. It's going to be a process. Tank like hell and get a good draft pick. Lose to the 76ers, somehow. Go get a top 3 pick.

Here is what New York has going into the summer:

-Top 5 pick
-Top 20 player
-Max cap space

New York has the pieces to make some moves as long as they keep losing this year.  They're probably better off long-term to trade Melo and build from the ground up but they don't have their pick (LOL) next year I believe.  I think all along the idea was to get Melo paid, take a crack at it this summer, and if it doesn't work just move him (he gets his money and only has to tough out 1-2 crappy seasons).  The problem is, who in their right mind would want that contract?

On the bright side, they're not Brooklyn.

No defense, three coaches with one team, knee injury. Not so sure...

If Knicks came up to Masai and offered Melo for the rights to their pick swap back, Masai would probably think long and hard about that - its not a home run.  There are a ton of players who are better, more well-rounded players than Melo.  Not to mention the guy is 30 and is already showing signs of disinterest.

Maybe I should have rephrased what I said.  Who in their right mind would trade anything of value for that contract.

He's picky, some games he's locked in/all in some games he takes off, but that's because of the lack of help he has, you put him on a contender around players he trusts and he a MVP caliber player

Example 2 yrs ago, and he didn't play as hard that's season as he's done the last 2.

Knee isn't a player serious problem.
