One of the Sacramento Kings prized offseason pickups will miss the start of the regular season and beyond.

An MRI has revealed that veteran forward Carl Landry has a tear in his left hip flexor muscle, which is expected to sideline him for the next three to four months. The team announced that the 30-year-old big man will undergo surgery tomorrow morning with Dr. William Meyers of the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia.

Landry likely suffered the injury during the teams stint in Santa Barbara. According to the Kings, Landry sustained the tear during a recent training camp practice. Prior to announcing surgery, Landry had sat out the the teams first two preseason games against the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.

He's clearly a guy that chased the money, but man he would have been perfect for a team like OKC.

That year and a half he played in New Orleans formed some excellent memories. Love that guy.

I said that last year before he signed with GS.

On the topic of GS, I think losing Jack and Landry will hurt them.
