I'd like this move for the short-term for the Cardinals. He's still got a couple years of good football left in him, but the question is what are they going to do after him? They very well could just try to lose next year to get Luck, but they need to get a long-term solution soon. Hasselbeck would be good for a year or two though. The National Football Post's Brad Biggs has spoken with sources that say the Cardinals are "quietly hoping" to make a run at free agent Matt Hasselbeck.
Perhaps Arizona has not already "come to an understanding" with Marc Bulger. At 35, Hasselbeck is actually one year older than Bulger, but has started 19 more games over the past two seasons, and generally proven to be much more durable throughout his career. Supplied with relatively few weapons of late in Seattle, he'd be an intriguing fit with elite wideout Larry Fitzgerald down in the desert.
