The National Football Post's Brad Biggs has spoken with sources that say the Cardinals are "quietly hoping" to make a run at free agent Matt Hasselbeck.

Perhaps Arizona has not already "come to an understanding" with Marc Bulger. At 35, Hasselbeck is actually one year older than Bulger, but has started 19 more games over the past two seasons, and generally proven to be much more durable throughout his career. Supplied with relatively few weapons of late in Seattle, he'd be an intriguing fit with elite wideout Larry Fitzgerald down in the desert.

I'd like this move for the short-term for the Cardinals. He's still got a couple years of good football left in him, but the question is what are they going to do after him? They very well could just try to lose next year to get Luck, but they need to get a long-term solution soon. Hasselbeck would be good for a year or two though.

Thoughts?

Ah please no Cardinals...that is not what you need.

Only reason I'd be ok with it, is so he can mentor their young QBs.

Are they really this down on Skelton? He showed some promise in the game I watched last year.

I really don't mind Skelton at all. I think he's a talented guy, and with some team, he'd be pretty damn serviceable in the NFL.

I want to see more of him personally.

I heard they are really pursuing Marc Bulger, I guess we'll see what happens.

Why the hell is there a pursuit for Marc Buler and why are people talking about him like he's a starting caliber QB?

Because he's a veteran with a lot of experience that could help out their younger QB's. I don't think Bulger is THAT bad.

Heard Kolb, Bulger, now Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck would be the best option of the 3, I think. I don't have a problem seeing Skelton play some more either. He looked good from what I saw.

I'd trade for Kolb if I were them.. I don't think any of their QBs have promise or the ability to be good/solid.

Skelton and Hall showed some things last season. The coaching staff was real high on Hall...then he got injured.
