“I think it’s very likely we can win the division, yes,” Campbell said, via Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com. “I respect every opponent in our division. Every one. But I think of it this way. We were able to hang in a bunch of our division games without a real quarterback.
“I don’t want to disrespect anyone but now we have a real quarterback to go with a good defense. When we play with a lead, we’re hard to beat. This is the first time in years that we have an offense that matches our defense.”
The only games the Cardinals really hung around in last year were the first few games when the defense carried them. As for this ‘real quarterback’ he speaks of, he means Carson Palmer. Last we checked, Carson Palmer hasn’t been among the Top 15 quarterbacks in the league the past several seasons. In fact, Carson Palmer’s last full season in the league, the Bengals finished 4-12.
“I was talking to Carson the other day and he said he’s never really played with a good defense before,” Campbell said. “I told him it’s been a while since I played with a good quarterback.”
What do you think? Winning the division is going to be tough regardless... Seahawks and 49ers are difficult to beat, and it's going to be competitive. I think the division is the best right now.
Does Palmer help the team win a lot more games? Him and Fitzgerald going to connect well enough?
