Coach Jim Caldwell conceded that he is considering a change at quarterback even if Kerry Collins (possible concussion) is cleared for Week 4.
Collins left Sunday night's loss to the Steelers in the third quarter but the Colts have not said whether he suffered a concussion. Regardless, Caldwell said health wouldn't be the only factor in choosing his starter next week, adding he would "look at all the other factors involved." In three games this year, Collins is completing just 49.0 percent of his passes, is averaging just 160.3 passing yards per game and has tossed a meager two touchdowns. Curtis Painter couldn't be much worse.

Painter actually showed a couple bright signs there in the final few minutes of the game. If their defense can play like that every night, and Painter is able to come in and make some nice tosses, they could improve a bit. Granted, he's not their answer at QB, but he'll at least be a better option than Kerry Collins has been.

Thoughts?

Cue Jeff George!! haha.
At this point in time, he wouldn't be that bad of an option lol. I still don't understand why they won't just go out and sign Garrard. Seriously, the guy could help lead that offense, he's a good QB.

No, he's not.

And you can't go out of house for a QB. You need somebody who knows that offense, so it's either Painter or you stick with Collins and hope he gets settled into that offense and finds his groove.

Go with the Purdue man. Drew Brees 2.0 haha jk. I did like what I seen from Painter. He had that potential TD overthrow to Garcon, but he kept them in the game, and looked alright. He has potential and has been in that system for a few years now, which makes him the best option. Unless, Collins can figure things out. Might be a week to week thing, and just go with who he has a better feeling about that week.
