I guess this is a good move, but if Irving comes in and proves right away that he should start, should they stick with this? Is this just Scott putting some confidence in Davis and trying to get Baron pumped for the season? Or do you guys think he's serious that he's going to start Davis no matter what?Coach Byron Scott said that Baron Davis is his starting point guard no matter who the Cavs draft.
Scott made the comments during the regular season, before he knew that the Cavs would get their hands on Duke PG Kyrie Irving. Still, it makes sense. Irving just turned 19 in March and missed half of his only college season due to injury. We'd expect Davis to groom Irving for at least 30 games before the rookie takes over.
