Andrew Bynum will get an injection of Synvisc, which serves as a lubricant, in his right knee on Friday. Bynum will be administered the injection by his personal doctor, David Altchek.

The company’s website states the substance can provide “up to six months of osteoarthritis knee pain relief with a single injection.”

Bynum will sit out All-Star practice Saturday while recovering from the injection. He will still play in the game Sunday.
