The Bulls are evaluating the health of free agent guard/forward Tracy McGrady, according to a source.

Chicago has spoken to his representation.

McGrady worked out for the Clippers on Wednesday and took a physical on Tuesday.

He tweeted that he's considering the Clippers, Bulls, Lakers and Heat, but added: "that could change by the morning ... lol ... this is the NBA."

The Bulls are working to finalize a workout with free-agent forward Tracy McGrady on Monday, according to a league source.

However, the source added that Chicago signing McGrady "is probably a long shot."

McGrady is recovering from microfracture surgery on his left knee in February 2009.

If he wanted to play in chi-town so bad..he could've signed there in 2000.

But I do want him to get a shot in chicago. You just gotta wonder how the minutes would work out with him/brewer/korver/deng.

The Bulls are prepared to sign free-agent Tracy McGrady if he proves to be healthy and willing to accept a bench role, according to a source.

McGrady is scheduled to workout for Chicago on Monday.

"Nothing is done until it's done, but I expect the Bulls to sign McGrady later this week," the source said. The length and value of the contract McGrady could sign is yet to be determined.

I don't see what there is to lose here. Get T-Mac on board, if he has an attitude or can't perform, then cut him loose. If he has anything left in the tank, then it's a great addition.

After T-Mac, sign Morris Almond and John Lucas III from the Summer League roster and call it an off-season.

Tracy McGrady's first choice is to sign with the Bulls after completing a workout with the team on Monday.

"This was a great team, a pretty good team, without adding myself and Carlos Boozer, and some of the key players that they added this offseason," said McGrady. "You bring a coach in like [Tom] Thibodeau, who's very defensive minded, very smart and knows the game, knows what to get out of his players.

"I think we can be really good, I really do."

McGrady worked out for the Clippers last week.

He has also expressed interest in playing for the Heat. The veteran said he wouldn't mind joining Chicago as a reserve, but his preference would be to start.

"I won't have a problem, but that's not what I'm really shooting for," he said of a potential bench role. "I think, yeah, if I was the player that I was in a Knicks uniform, I would have no problem coming off the bench, but I've worked extremely hard and I'm far from being that player. Trust me."

i think tmac is the starter at the two they need. brewer will do great off the bench and korver is just a role player anyways. get tmac and then get that big man. either way i think chicago gets this division, slightly but they got it.
