The Boston Bruins have signed restricted free agent Brad Marchand to a two-year, $5 million contract, the club announced Wednesday.

The Club did not release financial details, but according to multiple reports, the 23-year-old right wing, who set a Bruins rookie record with 11 playoff goals last season to help the Bruins win the Stanley Cup, will make $2 million in 2011-12 and $3 million in 2012-13.

"I am very happy with the term," Marchand told reporters Wednesday. "I think it was a perfect fit for both parties."

Marchand, a restricted free agent, has been working out with teammates in the Boston area for the last few days to get ready for training camp, which opens Sept. 16.

In his first full NHL season, Marchand was fourth on the team with 21 goals, and his plus-25 rating was second among all NHL rookies.

In the postseason, his 11 goals were second-most on the team, and his 19 points were third.

"Brad's always told me that he wanted to be here," Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said. "I had a feeling it would get done."
