Brooklyn Nets new logo?

The fine folks at Deadspin found this (in the twitter account of an IT guy who works at the under-construction Barclay Center, which will be home to the Nets next year). It is apparently the new logo for your Brooklyn Nets. This image is up on the walls at the Barclay Center. Obviously, the blue tape is not part of it.

I’d say this is the logo that Deron Williams will be wearing next year, but I think that will look a lot more like this.

I kind of like it. Simple, clean, keeping the shield and paying homage to the old look while getting away from the red, white and blue color scheme to something a little more New York in tone. I hear black is the new black this year.

The official unveiling of the logo is expected to come in the days after the season ends.

I was reading a Nets forum and some dude was like "there is no way that is it, they specifically said it would be like nothing we are imagining."

I almost wanted to reply saying when you think of your teams new logo that isn't the first thing to come to mind.

i have a feeling both jerseys will say Brooklyn
hopefully it's a good script. they have a chance at some classy looking unis IMO

The Dodgers would likely sue the Nets if they used a script font.

id say it plain but i still like it. im excited for the coloways too.

The 'B' on i t looks so fuckin generic. Like something you could create in a video game for your created franchise. that's the only thing that bothers me. i don't even mind the black/white look, at least it's not another team with a blue/red/white colorway
