Brian Rolston, who won the Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils as a rookie and went on to play in more than 1,200 games during a 17-season NHL career, retired Tuesday, the NHL Players' Association announced.
Rolston did not play this season, finishing his career in 2011-12 with the New York Islanders andBoston Bruins.
