Frustrated with a defense that finished toward the bottom of the league, the Cincinnati Bengals fired defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan and linebackers coach Ricky Hundley on Wednesday. Bresnahan has been an assistant in Cincinnati since 2004, following a stint as Oakland Raiders defensive coordinator.
Though legal troubles and injuries can attribute to the struggle of the Bengals on the defensive side of the ball, head coach Marvin Lewis saw enough reason to make the change. "These are very difficult decisions that affect the lives of coaches and their families," head coach Marvin Lewis said in a statement. "But after meeting with all our coaches, I determined that it was necessary to make these changes." -AE
