Just hours after the team parted ways with Terrell Owens, the Dallas Cowboys said 'goodbye' to safety Roy Williams.

Williams was on the block for weeks, received little interest from other teams on a trade, and asked for his release 2 days ago. Williams was with the team since he was drafted by Jerry Jones in the 1st round of the 2002 NFL draft. Williams has struggled with his coverage skills throughout his career but has been one of the most hard-hitting safeties in the NFL.

At only 28 and with 7 years as a starter, Williams would make a great addition to nearly any team. A liability with the pass coverage but a true run stuffing DB...where to next for Roy? -AE

i can see philly making a move on him.. they got rid of dawkins and dont have a great safety now.. Mikell lacks the power that roy williams has.. Alot of teams will offer on him and he wont be a FA long.

If I was a team I would stay away from him. He is a terrible safety. He constantly gets burned in coverage, takes poor angles so he can get the big hit. He is nothing but a few scenes in a big hit reel.

Only a matter of time before they were sick of having "Mr. Horse Collar" representing the Dallas colors. That`s the only way he can even record any tackles.
