http://www.canada.com/Sports/Bosh+seeking+...2547/story.htmlThe former girlfriend of Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh is taking the National Basketball Association star to court seeking child support, according to a report in the Toronto Star.
The newspaper reports that Bosh broke up with his former live-in girlfriend, Allison Mathis, last summer, leaving her seven months pregnant.
In addition to child support, Mathis, 28, is seeking sole custody of the now four-month-old.
The Star reports that the court documents, which were filed in Maryland, allege that Bosh and Mathis had planned to get married early last year and made the decision to become parents. The filings also allege that Bosh paid for Mathis to take fertility drugs.
According to Mathis's sworn affidavit, the couple moved into a $1.6-million house in Frisco, Texas, shortly after the child was conceived. But soon after Bosh returned from the Beijing Olympics last summer, he reportedly told her he was going to “move on” from their relationship.
The court documents also allege that Bosh no longer supported her financially and she was forced out of their Texas home and had to move in with her mother in a two-bedroom apartment in Maryland.
The baby, Trinity Meyers Mathis, was born on Nov. 2.
The Star reported that Bosh initially contested the paternity, however, a later paternity test proved that there was 99.97 per cent probability that the child was his.
According to the filings, Bosh has seen Trinity on two separate occasions when the Raptors were in Washington to play the Wizards.
Bosh's Maryland-based lawyer, Vincent Wills, told the Star: “Obviously Chris denies all the allegations in the complaint. We're going to be filing our response to the filing within the next week or so.”
