Suns and Raptors have discussed a deal that would send Boris Diaw to Toronto for TJ Ford and the No. 17 pick, according to the Arizona Republic
I like that deal a lot, PHX is in need of a PG like TJ and Toronto could use Diaw. That pick could also get PHX a nice player.

doesn't make sense to get a starting PG to be your backup PG.. but I suppose that's why the pick was included... not sure if this makes too much sense for either team... but ok

Yeah but they really dont have a good backup for Nash, DJ Strawberry probably wont be a decent backup for another year or two IMO.

I think Suns get the better deal, but is TJ Ford gonna start at SG?

Doubt it Dice-J. They have Barbosa and Bell for that. But Barbosa may be gone too, so we just have to see what happens.

No way, he's 6'0, 165. And he's not a scorer like Allen Iverson so just no way

Ford should be starting like 20 teams in the NBA

Yea, that would be interesting for the Suns. Diaw could be used on the Raptors. But Ford would be a back up unless they start him at the 2 guard spot. o_O But I think this would be a good deal for both sides, Nash doesn't have a whole lot of years left, and this way he can teach Ford some of his tricks.

This would also mean Calderon is getting the nod, but who would back him up?

Wasn't Calderon already starting some games over Ford anyway?

Hmm maybe this would allow Barbosa to start at SG or even trade him as well. I'm guessing they mostly want the pick, but who would they want? Or maybe a trade up using both that pick and the Hawks pick? Lots of options. But, IMO, if they aren't going to trade Barbosa then Anthony Parker would fit them much better, if they could acquire him.

The Raptors need to trade Ford to address other team needs. He is very overrated trust me. Ford can make some poor decisions on the court. Well Calderon is a restricted free agent but the team will re-sign him and make him the primary PG.

This trade makes no sense to me.
For one I'd take Ford over Diaw on my team anyday, and then just giving the pick away you could use for a good player?

Why Toronto?

We're going to find out just how much Steve Nash MAKES players...

1) Quentin Richardson
2) James Jones
3) Boris Diaw
probably others as well...
