Sometimes it's not just the moves that are made, but the timing of said moves. This afternoon the Charlotte Bobcats waived two players: Andre Brown and Linton Johnson III. A couple of weeks ago this would have raised no eyebbrows. Teams were cutting their rosters down to the required 15 for the start of the regular season. Now, however, it is more than a little suspisious. There has been plenty of trade talk surrounding the Bobcats, who have made all but public overtures to the New Jersey Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers, and are openly shopping Gerald Wallace in their desire to land a true center to play next to Emeka Okafor. Now they've suddenly waived two players, taking their roster down to 13. Sounds like the Bobcats have a taker, and that in the deal they're getting back more players than they're sending out. According to a couple of well-informed sources the Bobcats have been aggressively working the phone lines as they watch their attendance drop in direct proportion to their winning percentage. It sounds like we could see a huge move made by the Bobcats in the next few hours.

They need to do something because they suck, as they have since they got into the league.

Oh LAWD!
Michael Jordan making a move?
Maybe he can get Kwame Brown back!

Just a side note:

Here are all the rumors he was involved in:

*First, the Bobcats had reportedly agreed to trade him, though the destination was unclear.

* Then, news dropped that he was going to Golden State in a three-team trade that sent Eddy Curry and David Lee to Charlotte, and Al Harrington and Marco Belinelli to New York. That hasn’t panned out either.

* And this morning, we’re hearing that the Raptors are also in the mix, hoping to do something to address their porous perimeter defense. Bryan Colangelo is realizing that Jose Calderon, Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon really can’t guard anyone. Thus, they’re trying to figure a way to be the third team in that three-way deal with the Warriors and Bobcats

But, even with all of those possibilities circulating, there’s another one that undermines the legitimacy behind all of the Gerald Wallace rumors.

“With four more seasons after this at $9.5 million per season, one general manager said Charlotte is the one putting out rumors that others are interested in Gerald Wallace.”

That’s kind of crazy to think that all of this could be made up.
