Bobcats fire Mike Dunlap after one season

The Bobcats have fired Mike Dunlap as head coach, the team announced on Tuesday.

Wow. After just one season, Dunlap is finished in Charlotte. He finished his one year with the Bobcats with a record of 21-61, and it's going to be an extremely tough sell to any candidate to take over this team. Michael Jordan and his front office have some crucial work to do this offseason.

It's funny how they just think a coach can come in and magically make that team good in one year.

I saw this headline this morning and I was a little confused. They must have someone else in mind and Dunlap was just a temporary filler

Who is going to want the job after seeing someone get fired after 1 year?

And after saying that, most assistants would.

Here's a roster with no talent. Improve us.

I never watched the Bobcats, but you can still see flaws in coaches when the rosters have no talent. Rotation patterns, timeouts, clock management, late game situations, etc..

And that's why the Bobcats are who they are.

Right on Mexi...

Gordon and him bumped heads all season, and with all the young players we have, when they see that their respect for the coach drops...

I thought I read on here about a practice they had where, while Dunlap was addressing the team BG kept dribbling the ball, Dunlap asked him to stop he said "Nah, you need to humble yourself.."

That says it all about their views towards him right there

With all that said.... yet another step back for Charlotte

I actually remember that.  But still, I think it says a lot about a player who treats his coach like that.  It's like that situation in Detroit a couple years ago.

it happened again this year there, kind of. more like this though. our players all tried giving input to help the team and rotations and frank always brushed them off and never really tried to bond with the team during his time here.

Most of my friends here stopped giving a shit about the NBA after the Hornets left. Hopefully they get them back soon. That will spark the hype in the city again.

You familiar with the We Beelieve movement around Charlotte?

It's weird how NBA fans.  I know people who have NEVER been Hornets fans but are all pumped about the Pelicans.

I bet the same thing goes for Charlotte.  People who were never Bobcats fans would be Hornets fans.

People like brands way to much.

Yeah I see what you're saying forsure. The kids I know personally though, they don't like the Bobcats because they grew up Hornets fans and shit. It's just not the same. Whack name, whack team ... you lose that passion.

If the Bills or Sabres ever left Buffalo and then came back 5 years later called the Sharks or some shit, I wouldn't give a fuck. Not even because of a gay ass name though ... it's just not the same team I grew up loving.

I saw on channel 9 news that its a REAL possibility, MJ commented on it, and said their definitely considering it.
