NHL.com - The Jackets would want established forwards in any trade for Rick Nash, GM Scott Howson told TSN on Friday.

Speaking on "That's Hockey," Howson would not confirm that Nash would only accept a trade to the Bruins, Flyers, Penguins, Rangers, Red Wings or Sharks, as has been reported.

"If we do complete a trade, we're trading out a 30- to 40-goal scorer," Howson told TSN's Gino Reda. "Defense is probably the strongest part of our team as we look at it today, so we're looking to get some NHL forwards back first and foremost."

Howson said he has no timetable to make a deal. He said he has talked to "a number of teams."

For what it will cost, I want no part of him.

Me either, really. I've been hearing Nash talks since last season and it seems like they've been going nowhere. They really want a team to blow them out of the water with an offer I guess.

Let him suffer in Columbus. He kinda feels like the NHL's Dwight Howard to me. Disgruntled star wants to be traded, wants to be able to choose his team, always has rumors floating around him, yet he never gets traded.

Players are just way too picky nowadays; and with no-trade clauses, they pretty much can dictate where they want to go.

It should be a full no trade clause or none at all imo. That goes for all sports.
