Anaheim Ducks forward Jason Blake was taken to a hospital with a lacerated left forearm after he was cut midway through the third period of Friday night's 1-0 victory against San Jose.
Blake fell to the ice after a faceoff and appeared to be cut by the skate of Sharks defenseman Brent Burns. Coach Randy Carlyle said the cut was "severe." Blake went to a hospital for sutures, but the severity of his injury wasn't immediately known.
Blake, 38, has no points in three games this season after scoring 16 goals and adding 16 assists in 76 games last season. He has 206 goals and 474 points in 828 games with the Kings, Islanders, Maple Leafs and Ducks. Blake's best season came in 2006-07, when he had 40 goals and 69 points with the Islanders.
