Black and Gold Raptors?

The Toronto Raptors’ ongoing rebranding efforts haven’t succeeded in doing much more than putting Drake and Rob Ford on a stage together, but today we finally got a glimpse of the future—and it turns out the future is dressed like a Swarovski bumble bee.
The Star’s Doug Smith writes that Raptors management is “definitely” considering switching the team’s uniforms from red and white to black and gold, starting in the 2015-16 season. He adds that he’s heard nothing to suggest that the colour change has actually been decided upon. The Raptors are still in the middle of executing a strategic self-reinvention plan—apparently losing constantly isn’t great for a team’s image—and nothing has been officially announced yet.
There’s a chance that this leak is part of the overall strategy—a subtle attempt to gauge public reaction to a potential new colour scheme. So, what do you think? Let us know, below.

I do want us to go retro but black and gold does sound different and cool.

The league wouldn't let the Pels have black in their color scheme, so I doubt they let Toronto.

that's because hornets were going from light blue and yellow to their next colors, which ended up being navy and red. They didn't want another team using black.


Toronto is already using black. It's just replacing red for gold

Do you guys think the logo is classic enough not to change, or would you guys want a total rebrand of everything (logos jerseys colours)?
 
I think they ruled out the named change though, which is good cause I've always liked the Raptors name.

Good point. I like the logo now, maybe with some tweaks it could look nicer. I was thinking maybe it'd just be a color + jersrey change with the same logos cause that's what it was last time. If they change the logo I hope it's not disappointing.
 
Toronto Huskies would have been cool though at the same time. Going back to the roots and all.

otheriwse id just make a gold alt maybe. i like the raptors logo. new colors wont work with it.
