Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com has reported that former New Orleans Hornets forward Chris Andersen plans to apply for reinstatement into the NBA when he becomes eligible to do so on Sunday.
The process will be lengthy, but Andersen could very well return to the court before the end of the season.
"Today in New Orleans, Andersen's two former teams, the Nuggets and Hornets, will face each other. Today in New York, Andersen's fate will be debated — the Denver resident, sober and apologetic, has applied for reinstatement to the NBA...Andersen had been kicked out of the NBA for substance abuse, a two-year banishment that ended Sunday."
