Bird Hopes to Meet with Owner Simon

Larry Bird hopes to meet with Pacers owner Herb Simon some time "in the next week or two."
"The big question of mine to him is, 'Now we have the money, are we going to be able to spend it?'" said Bird. "We waited three years to get to this point, now what can we do?" It's not guaranteed that Bird will even return in his role as team president, though it seems likely after Indiana's playoff berth and solid play vs. the Bulls.

I'm really hoping that Bird stick around and is allowed to spend this money just like they've always been planning. If he's sent away and we don't spend the money that we have, then Pacers fans are going to be pissed.
