The Oakland Tribune is reporting that talks between Joe Dumars and Chris Mullins are still going on, the Warriors still want Billups but the Pistons want other players instead of Al Harrington.

July 12, Oakland Tribune: Chris Mullin may not believe his own rhetoric about Ellis. The buzz in Detroit is that the Warriors and Pistons have been talking about a deal involving point guard Chauncey Billups. The Pistons want Andris Biedrins, the Warriors are offering up Al Harrington. Harrington by all means. But Biedrins? No way.
Billups has been mentioned in a number of trade scenarios this offseason -- for Tracy McGrady, for Carmelo Anthony, for a possible lottery pick -- so a fresh one to the Warriors is certainly plausible. Hard to see Billups in a running style, though, and he will be 32 in September. That said, he would be much preferable to Ellis at the point, and a significant recoup, at least temporarily, for the loss of Davis.

With the continued performance and improvement of Rodney Stuckey, and all the rumors seeming to center around Chauncey, it's looking that Billups may be the player Dumars moves this summer.
I love Biedrins, I would love this to happen. :)

C'mon Rip this is a horrible trade.

Biedrins isnt going to be as good a player as Billups is. At best he'll be a solid role player the rest of his career.

Warriors would win this one easily...

We need a Center, and we have Stuckey to take over the helm. We would probably get more than just AB too...

Biedrins-Wallace-Prince-Hamilton-Stuckey

That's a hell of a line IMO. Wallace finally gets to go back where he belongs in the line-up.

I honestly dont think Stuckey is capable of running the point full-time, he did a good job in the playoffs, but its obvious he'd be better playing off a PG in a combo guard position.

Well I honestly think he will do fine as our teams PG....that's kind of why Dumars drafted him.

I don't see why Stuckey won't be good though, seriously.
He is a slasher like hell, gets to the line a lot (where he shoots a good %), his jumpshot was starting to look really nice, he can pass, and he is a pesky defender who gets a good amount of steals for us.

+1

This will NEVER happen. Dream on...

Andris is a franchise center and we LOVE him. No way in hell. Not even in your dreams...

We already have announced Monta as PG. Trading a VERY young talented big man for an old washed up shooting PG will never happen.

Every Pistons rumor is a joke...

No he doesnt, no where close.

He will not be a pue PG, he is a combo guard. If you think 6APG is good enough then he'll be good enough, right now he's not ready for the job full-time.

Billups and Stuckey have a completly different game however. And Stuckey was a rookie last season, remember that.

Him being a rookie, wont effect how he develops. Its a proven fact you cant turn a combo guard into a pure point guard... since there has yet to be a player to do it.

Stuckey wont be any different, same with Monta Ellis. These guys played SG all their life, you cant convert from 20 years of playing one position to the most important position in the game, its not about thinking about what to do, its about doing it instinctively. And unless youve played the position since the beginning, you wont be able to "learn" the position.

I'm gonna agree with this.
