The Bills have made a significant signing, keeping cornerback/return man Leodis McKelvin with a four-year, $20 million deal, according to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com.

His return skills aren’t in doubt, but he’s still developing as a defensive player.

But with that kind of money, they’ll probably want to see more from him there to justify a sizable investment.

McKelvin was No. 78 in PFT’s Free Agent Top 100, as we chip away at that list in advance of the opening of the full market Tuesday.

He stepped up quite a bit last season in his coverage skills. Obviously, he's still got a lot to prove with this type of contract and being such a high pick a few years ago, Bills fans expected much more out of him. I like the re-signing though. I think he can become a solid DB with the right coaching.

He's arguably the most explosive returner in the league too, imo.

Somewhat unrelated, but I'm curious; how did Gilmore look last season?

he was solid for a rook. still has a long way to go, but even though this isn't saying much, i think he has the most potential out of the past few DB's we picked in the first round (Whitner, McKelvin) haha.
