Saw it on the MLB Facebook. Who's the bigger loss? Jose or David?

Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz tweaked his achilles rounding the bases on Adrian Gonzalez's game-winning home run in Monday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Ortiz hustled around second base, unsure if the ball would clear the fence, and came up limping after touching the bag. He will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

The Blue Jays might have lost one of baseball's top sluggers for an extended period. Bautista injured his left wrist on a swing in the eighth and was removed from the game. He hit a long foul ball against David Robertson and immediately grabbed his wrist, dropping into a crouch outside the batter's box.

Bautista walked off the field, gently supporting the wrist with his right hand after being attended to by several Toronto staff members. After the game, the Blue Jays said Bautista did not break a bone, but he has a tendon injury and will have an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity.

Bautista easily. No way to replace him in that lineup.

JBau

with e5 likely hitting 3, he will have no protection in the lineup which will hurt the jays offensively big time.

sox are deeper offensively.

I'm going to say Bautista as well. We lost a position player compared to the Red Sox losing a DH who's also our best hitter. And our injured pitching rotation wasn't helping so the hitting needed to come up big, and we lost our best hitter. Too many injuries now = no hope at the playoffs now. The Red Sox just had Crawford come back too.

True. The Red Sox should be fine.

Jose Bautista, he makes a very big impact defensively where Big Papi doesnt even play a position.

Bautista without a doubt. Sox just got Crawford and Ellsbury back in the lineup, they'll be fine.

I'd be surprised if either team made the playoffs with them healthy anyway.
