Today:
Bengals @ Ravens
Why We'll be Watching:
Can the Bengals sink the Ravens to 0-3? The birds must suck at least once during the Flacco/Harbaugh tenure, and with a completely punchless offense that's leaning way too much on something called Crockett Gilmore, this may be the year.
Tyler Eifert is healthy and he's the real deal. Cincinnati's young tight end has touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season, and who says he can't score again in week 3?
Prediction:
Bengals 24 Ravens 16
I don't think the Ravens are any good this season.
Falcons @ Cowboys
Why We'll be Watching:
Brandon Weeden is like a direct-to-TV horror movie--he's the Sharknado of the NFL. Any team quarterbacked by him is almost guaranteed to be an an almighty shit show, and you know you want to see the Cowboys as a Quincy Carter, Dave-Campo-esque era shit show.
Are the Falcons the real deal? Regardless of how bad Dallas' offense might be if Weeden hasn't gotten better, their defense is stout and aggressive under Rod Marinelli. Can Atlanta find some running room, and can Matt Ryan do something other than rely on Julio Jones? Roddy White was held without a catch last week, so he's due. Leonard Hankerson is an underrated receiver. Matty-ice has to make use of these dudes against better defense who will limit Julio Jones to some extent.
Prediction:
Falcons 20 Cowboys 17
Weeden limits himself to one turnover but can't muster enough points to pull off a victory in a very winnable game for the Cowboys.
Chargers @ Vikings
Why We'll be Watching:
Which 1-1 team wants to right the ship more and head into week 4 above .500? Adrian Peterson is salivating right now looking at a Chargers defense that is allowing 4 yards before first contact to running backs. Philip Rivers is trying to figure out his offense sans Gates and Melvin Gordon hasn't exactly lit up the world yet. Keenan Allen is a good receiver but he'll be seeing a lot of Xavier Rhodes, today.
Can Teddy Bridgewater start to play well against quality opponents? Today, we'll find out.
Prediction:
Vikings 30 Chargers 24
I think the Vikings sneak out to a lead and hold on while Rivers tries to rally.
49ers @ Cardinals
Why We'll be Watching:
The Cardinals have been successful with minimal pieces in recent years, at least on offense. Now that they have weapons like dynamic running back David Johnson and speedster John Brown, not to mention a healthy Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald with the opportunity to prove that his prime isn't completely finished, Nevertheless, the Cardinals are a very dangerous offense. They're fun to watch, to say the least.
The 49ers are a bit of a mixed back. Can they look like week 1 again or was that a fluke caused by playing non West Coast team at 9pm CT.
Prediction:
Cardinals 45 Niners 26
Arizona leaps out ahead early and doesn't look back.
Bills @ Dolphins
Why We'll be Watching:
Tyrod Taylor has played well through 2 weeks while Ryan Tannehill hasn't. Which player shows up today to lead his team to 2-1? The Bills are a mixed bag of offensive talent and aggressive defense, while the Dolphins were supposed to be everybody's sleeper pick. Neither is particularly living up to the hype right now, so who's going to right the ship?
Can Tannehill finally start to shine on a consistent basis or will he always be this great one week and terrible the next quarterback?
Prediction:
Bills 24 Dolphins 13
Taylor leads a fourth quarter drive that puts the 'fins away.
