Basketball IQ.....

I keep reading this everywhere and I just dont get it. So in baseball and football they dont have IQ. Ive never heard someone say, "Wow Tom Brady has great football IQ." Are basketball players mentally retarded or something? I just think its a stupid saying. Ive never read "Albert Pujols used some of his excellent baseball IQ to hit a Home Run."

I've heard it for football, baseball too (not as much, only for like pitchers or people who are good batters and don't strike out) I just don't think they call it IQ. Like they say football smarts instead, basketball IQ is just a slogan that stuck on

Basketball iq is a lot. Magic and larry had a tremendous one. Those guys could see plays before it happened. For example TD has a high basketball iq. Stromile swift doesnt. Lebron James has a high bball iq. Josh smith doesnt.

A Football IQ and Basketball IQ Baseball etc.. is just a saying, it means you understand the game well. And in Basketball to have a good IQ means you can see plays before they happen know where the rebound will go know where to be on certain plays. It just means how well you know and understand the game. It can go for any sport, but it gets talked about more in Basketball because you do need to know the game very well to succed.

Yes. Thousands of basketball players that have gone to pretigous schools across the country are mentally retarded. It's just a saying to describe how well a player understands and reacts to the game as it's going on.
