Can't say I've ever seen him play..

But for the package we're sending, he can't be that much of a risk, won't like we were going to get much out of Camby.. Novak was exposed in the playoff series 2yrs ago vs the heat and every team followed suit on how to guard him...

Really only giving up a 1st..

Hopefully he works well with us..

Camby and Novak > Bargnani

There is a big difference between guys that may not be difference makers and don't necessarily hurt you and a guy that downright hurts you. Even if he barely played, atleast Camby gave you solid defense, rebounding, and shot blocking. While Novak gave you a efficient great floor spacer who opened up the floor for guys like Melo, Smith, etc.

Bargnani is a very inefficient big man (39.9% this past season from the field and 30.9% from three) who doesn't rebound (7.6 total rebound rate, which would be considered above average for a wing player, awful isn't even a good word to describe that for a big), who doesn't block shots, and plays even worse defense than Novak.

a winning team and change of scenery could help him, though.

You don't have to be, just the other day I made a post on another board regarding Jrue Holiday and how the eye test is still by far the best evaluation. The problem is, the numbers back up his play on the court, which isn't always the case. I just don't like the trade, but honestly like it's been stated yall really didn't give up anything.

Actually I don't mind the trade, but I don't like the player. Not what the Knicks need.

i dont understand how Camby gives us rebounding or defense or shot blocking. its impossible to contribute to a team when you almost never play, and when you do play u end up missing a week per minute played.

if this didnt include a first i would like it, but we shoukdnt be giving up a 1st for this guy.

I think its a good deal for the Knicks tbh

it allows Melo to play low in the post without having spacing issues by having KMart or Amare out there, or having to guard a much bigger player like KG/Lopez due to a small lineup

plus late 20s arent even that great of picks (assuming the Knicks dont suck in 3 years). Bargs will contribute a lot more than anyone in that range

That's tough to say since the Knicks played a ton of unique lineups last season.
