Anton Babchuk has agreed to a two-year/$5 million contract extension with the Calgary Flames.
Babchuk became an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, but Flames GM Jay Feaster remained interested in re-signing him. Feaster is on record as saying he thinks Babchuk "is capable of scoring 50 points in a season." We wouldn't count on him reaching that marker in 2011-12, but we don't think he'll be that far off after recording 35 points in each of his last two seasons.
