Avery wanted to trade Dirk

According to an 'infallible' source that spoke with Pete Vecsey, Avery Johnson was interested in Dallas trading Dirk Nowitzki following last year's playoffs.

Johnson didn't feel like Nowitzki provided the team adequate leadership on or off the court.

Johnson was of course overruled by management.

I think that is absolutely correct... Avery should've wanted to deal Dirk, and obviously people over him would disagree... It makes perfect sense.
