The deal is reportedly $32M/4. He declined $24/4 earlier in the season, so it looks like we upped our ante a bit.

A very crowded backcourt in Boston right now.

Rondo, Bradley, Smart, Young, and Pressey all under roster

Little bit of an overpay, but who isn't? CJ Miles just got 4.5M...

Someone just as good as Miles will get like 2M annually two weeks from now.

this

He shot impressively well for himself this year, though. Solid 14+PPG scorer now

I think the Celtics feel like they got a bargain.  I know I would.  You have a guy who is 14.9 ppg, he has a pretty average FG% give or take, he has a good 3PT% on over 3 attempts per game, and a low turnover number.

But he's one of the best on ball defenders in the league.  Top five for sure.

So if you try to analyze what the player gives you on offensive versus what he saves you on defense, the Bradley signing may start to look like a much better idea.

We need better analytics in basketball.  There aren't really conclusive +/- ratings for player on individual assignments.  Ten years from now, players like Bradley are worth this contract for sure and maybe more.
